February at Annabella

So many things happening at Annabella and Company! There has been a lot of soaping being done out in the Sheddio. Be sure to check out our Etsy for what’s new on the racks.

I’m very happy to announce that I’ll be presenting two sessions on color in soapmaking at the Handcrafted Soapmaker’s Guild’s annual conference. This year the conference is in Miami, Florida from May 18 to 20. I’m presenting the first full day of the conference in the afternoon. I’ve presented at a number of conferences and they are always an intense learning experience.  The classes are outstanding and getting to be completely saturated in soapmaking with other soapmakers is an experience not to be missed.  Both members of the Guild and non-members are invited to attend.

My book – The Everything Soapmaking Book – is mentioned on Soap Queen TV!  Anne-Marie of Brambleberry teaches a series of soapmaking classes online on the Soap Queen channel over on YouTube.  I’ve taught at a couple of soapmaking events at Brambleberry’s soap studio called Otion and had a wonderful time working with Anne-Marie, who is a force of nature.

There is a new member of the Collective!  She’s a fellow spinner who came to take a soapmaking group class at my studio.  She’s been bitten by the soapmaking big and she has got it bad.  She’s been coming for weekly private lessons and is well on the way to becoming a Soapmaker.  She’s “flown solo” a number of times and has been creating amazing original recipes and beautiful finished soaps.  We have cutting days once a week in addition to the lesson days.  Today is a cutting day and I can’t wait to see the swirls she did.

I’m off to the Sheddio…
